Off-road in the Gargano

This itinerary winds through Bosco Quarto. The first objective, the Agriturismo S. Maria in Bosco Quarto, lies about 20 kilometres outside Manfredonia, taking the provincial road 57 in the direction of Foresta Umbra. Once you have reached the state road 272, turn right and drive another 3 kilometres to reach the Agriturismo. You will find a dirt track, with a splendid view over the Basilica and the castle of San Michele, after which you will enter the wood and later return onto the asphalt road for Carpino–Cagnano. Take the turning for Carpino on the provincial road 50 bis; shortly after kilometre 17, take the downhill dirt road that leads you to the wood, signposted for Valle Ragusa.
