The Murgia lowlands

The tour starts in Alberobello, with a stroll amid its remarkable trulli, stone houses with a characteristic conical roof, among which the Trullo Sovrano – the only two-storey trullo in existence – stands tall. Next, stop over in Noci, a town surrounded by splendidly wild countryside and host, in winter time, to important food and wine events (Bacco nelle Gnostre, Pettole nelle Gnostre and Cioccolato in Sagra). Also worthy of note is the Abbazia della Madonna della Scala, home to a laboratory for the restoration of antique books.
