Salento for one and all

The tour begins in the city of Lecce, with a visit to the marvellous piazza Duomo, the amphitheatre and the Basilica di Santa Croce. Next, drive towards the Adriatic coast as far as Otranto, the most eastern location in Italy. A stroll through the winding lanes of the fortified historical centre, as far as the superb Cattedrale di Santa Maria Annunziata, is a real must. The Castle and the Grotta dei Cervi (Porto Badisco), displaying impressive Neolithic rupestrian paintings, are also worthy of note.
