Starting in Margherita di Savoia, you may visit the salt mines and the Museo Storico, exhibiting the utensils traditionally used to mine salt. On reaching Trani, the Ognissanti complex - an ancient hospital and abbey constructed to give shelter to the crusaders - is well worth a visit. From Trani, move on to Molfetta and then Monopoli, where you may admire the historical shipyards of Cala Fontanelle. Continuing southbound, we recommend spending at least a day in Brindisi, visiting the port and its fortifications. The journey continues bound for Otranto, where you will come across the lighthouse of Punta Palascìa, now restored and transformed into a virtual museum.
