Porto Selvaggio: origin and general characteristics of the “Regional Natural Park of Porto Selvaggio - Palude del Capitano” , functions of the Watch Towers, ancient defensive strongholds that line the coast, bringing to mind the ancient incursions of Saracen pirates- notions of history - palaeontology, and prehistory. Palude del Capitano, in this interesting area it is possible to find active karstic phenomena in the areas of the lagoon and smaller dolines. The extreme rarity and beauty of the flowers and vegetation label this area:“Sarcopoterium spinosum”, “Shrub Thyme”, “Alyssum leucadeum” are just some examples.
