Friday, October 9, at the Chianchizza Estate in Monopoli,  there was the 1° "Viaggiareinbici" Bicycle Meet organised by the Tourism Authority of the Region of Puglia, by the Bari Tourist Office, and by ENIT in Stockholm (Sweden). The event marked the conclusion of Anders Pihl's cycling tour of Puglia, which took place from October 5th until the 10th.  Pihl is a Swedish journalist for the sector journal "Vagabond". A week dedicated to the discovery of places and alternative itineraries, using a bicycles as a means of transportation.
In the end, the final event was the production of a grand bicycle touring reportage to be published in Sweden, and most likely in Norway as well, with a total press run of about  55 thousand copies.
The project fit in perfectly with the regional programmes to de-seasonalize the tourist flow, to promote sustainable mobility, and to encourage bicycle and "slow" tourism.
