Bicycle touring is becoming one of the most popular forms of tourism in Europe.
In recent years, Puglia has promoted sustainable mobility with a view to reducing energy waste and enhancing the local territory.
Numerous cycle paths and routes are already in operation, and many more are currently being studied.
Through the contribution of the local Administrations and the new transport planning and programming instruments adopted by the region, Puglia has been able to take part in inter-regional and trans-national projects, creating a local network of cycle paths that is to form part of a European transport network supporting sustainable tourism.
