Easy to reach from Foggia by helicopter and from the main nearby coastal areas by motorboat or hydrofoil, the Tremiti Islands include: San Domino Island, whose cliffs alternate with sandy inlets, caves and protected bays cut into the rock, San Nicola Island drenched by a transparent sea that takes on a clear greenish colour against the shore and an intense blue around the harbour and Capraia Island whose coastline is characterised by rock arches known as “Architielli” and two other cliffs: Cretaccio and Vecchia.
Coast Type:
There are various coastal formations modelled by the waves, such as rocks (Scoglio dell’Elefante), cliffs (The Pagliai) and natural parks (The Architello) to admire on boat trips. There are also plenty of diving centres on San Domino island that organise guided excursions, underwater photography courses and archaeological dives. There are also excursions to the beautiful Capraia Island leaving from Cala degli Inglesi.
