Foce Varano
Foce Varano is a highly original tourist resort in the town of Ischitella that became popular during the 1960s with a 250-metre tourist marina. It is the ideal spot for those who want to spend their holiday in contact with nature. It consists of a long line of small houses and campsites nestled along the Adriatic coast with fine white sandy beaches. The ancient length of sand, which actually caused the formation of the lake by dividing it from the sea, stretches from Foce Varano to the border and the beach of the same name in Cagnano Varano. It hosts the State Reserve of the Island of Varano, characterised by the presence of several animal species and typical vegetation of the Mediterranean maquis. Exposed northward, it is often swept by northern winds, making Foce Varano the ideal spot for those who love water sports.
