Palazzo Rogadeo is also known as Palazzo Arcivescovile. Originally, in the XV century the palace belonged to the Rogadeo family. Later it was purchased by the archbishop Fra Diegi Alvarez and became the archbishop’s palace. Of great interest are the proportions of the inner courtyard facade, to which the triple order of arches gives charm and elegance. Shaped brackets form the keystones of any arch. Two wonderful balconies are made even more graceful by the precious banisters embellishing the upper floors.
A Brief History:
Wanted by Frederick II, the building of the palace started in 1233 and ended in 1249. The direction of works was entrusted to Filippo Cinardo, count of Conversano and Acquaviva. During the centuries, the palace had several changes but, in spite of it, this mighty building managed to keep all the impressive beauty of its original structure.
