Torre Casieri in Canosa di Puglia, a building of the 2nd century AD, is a typical example of a type of chamber tomb excavated in a block of stone. Outiside, the tomb is covered with bricks and consists of three overlapping parts, in particular a base, a central part and a small cylindrical tambour.
Inside it, there is a rectangular burial chamber topped by a barrel vault made of concrete, which has two semicircular niches. The structure is part of the necropolis of via San Paolo, located along the ancient Trajan way.
