Salignano Tower, an imposing cylindrical structure dating back to the half of the 16th century, stands in the centre of the small square inside the nice borough of Castrignano del Capo.
It has a twenty-centimetre diameter and it’s almost eleven metres high; although the passing of time, it is well-kept, its conditions are good, including the small staircase which, from its base, takes to the top.
Salignano Tower was part of the defensive structure in the hinterland of Lecce, in case of Turkish invasions. Nowadays, it is a place for cultural events.
