The towers standing in the territory of Marittima, once surrounded a cluster of houses that made it a small fortified hamlet. In fact, the village was raided by the Saracenes in 1573. The tower named after Francesca Antonia Baldassarra dates from the 16th century. The interior consists of a polygonal-shaped single opening, whose loopholes and machicolations are still well visible.
The Baldassarra Tower is accessed from Caduti Marrittimesi street, while the Alfonsino Tower is in Benvenuto Cellini street. The Colombaie Towers are located respectively in Vecchia Marittima Andrano street, and in the Resistenza cross street. The Lupo Tower, on the other hand, stands in Vcinale way in Capo di Lupo, overlooking the coast.
