The Norman Tower of Canneto, borough of Adelfia, is what is left of the original medieval castle, dating back to the 12th century. In the past it used to protect the town from enemies attacks, but thanks to its strategic position, it was also good as a place from which people could ask for help.
The tower, connected through a gallery to the countryside direction Acquaviva delle Fonti, is almost 19 metres high and has four floors. In the past, its ground floor was used as prison, but, considering the condition in which it is now, it is not possible for visitors to enter it.
