The feast of the Madonna of the Annunciation has a great religious and tourist importance for the town. The committee members devote themselves to the success of the event, as it is held at the beginning of the summer season. Among the events of the feast you can find a fireworks contest on the day before, a "fish-festival”, band concerts and shows of famous artists. The most important moment of the feast is the procession of the icon through the streets of the town. All the lights are on and the doors of all the houses are open as to welcome a blessing.
Event History:
The patron’s day is associated with an ancient devotion for the mother of Jesus. Fishermen have always called her for help, mother have always consecrated her the growing up of their sons and children have been brought up according to her precepts.
