The Old Time Fair takes place in the old town centre of Ostuni on the 15 August. On that date, tourists are offered typical dishes of the local cuisine. Besides, craftsmen revive forgotten jobs such as “l'umbrellare” and “l'acconzopiatte” (the repairman), who repaired umbrellas and objects in clay or ceramic, “lu curdelare” (the rope maker), who made ropes for the production of the fiscoli and round rope dishes used for the oil pressing from olive paste.
Not to be missed:
Some of the craftsmen at work, such as “'umbrellare” and “l' acconzopiatte” (the repairman), who repaired umbrellas and objects in clay and ceramic, “lu curdelare” (the rope maker), who made ropes for the production of the fiscoli and round rope dishes used for the oil pressing from olive paste.
