A tour of the Torre Guaceto reserve and its amazing natural environments: the Mediterranean maquis, wetlands, coastline, and its varied plants and wildlife species. You will have a chance to see the sand dunes, shaped by the wind over a foundation of roots that hold the sand in place. You will see the fascinating wetlands, fed by underground springs and dotted by cane thickets and ponds, where you will have an opportunity to observe local and migrating bird species. The visitors’ centre is the ideal place to learn more about the various habitats. The nature tour continues in the “Coastal Dunes from Torre Canne to Torre S. Leonardo” Natural Park, also characterized by different environments, some of which are currently endangered: the beach, the dunes covered in Mediterranean maquis, the wetlands, and the Morelli river area, which is on the migrating routes of several water birds and where fish are farmed.
