A cultural tour of three cities chock-full of monuments and architectural masterpieces. The tour starts in Bari, with a walk through the old city’s alleys to the Basilica of San Nicola, a prime example of Apulian Romanesque style. You will follow the Imperatore Augusto Promenade to the Svevo Castle, where you will take a fascinating underground tour that reaches the areas beneath the nearby San Sabino Romanic Cathedral, all the way to the Palazzo Simi archaeological area. You then continue with a tour of the new city: shopping in via Sparano, a visit to Palazzo Mincuzzi and the Petruzzelli Theatre. You will also visit the painting gallery inside Palazzo della Provincia. You next stop is Trani: with its Castle overlooking the sea, its massive quadrangular towers. You will visit the San Nicola Pellegrino Cathedral, the Diocesan Museum and the Sant’Anna Synagogue Museum. The old city’s alleys look out onto the port and the seafront, lined with stores. You will also visit the Municipal Villa, with its beautiful garden overlooking the sea. The tour ends in Barletta, where you will visit the De Nittis paintings gallery, located inside the sumptuous Palazzo della Marra. You will then stroll through the historic city centre, where you will see the statue of the Colossus and the Monument of the Challenge, located in the plaza in front of the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre. Finally, you will visit the Cathedral and the Castle, with its four bastions.
