The tour starts in the city of Bovino, with a walk through the beautiful alleys of the old quarter and a visit to the Basilica-Cathedral and to the Gaetano Nicastro Archaeological Museum. You will also visit the Diocesan Museum, located inside the Norman ducal castle, which hosts the “Cathedral’s Treasure”. Next stop, Ascoli Satriano, with a tour of the Daunii Archaeological Park and Archaeological Museum. You will visit the historic city centre where you will see several noble houses and the mosaics of a Roman house from the first century A.D. In the Faragola area you will then visit the fascinating Archaeological Park, where the rare and luxurious living room of a villa from Late Antiquity was converted into a Museum.

The tour of the historic city centres is difficult for wheelchair bound visitors. The "Carlo Gaetano Nicastro" Municipal Museum in Bovino and the "P. Rosario" Municipal Museum in Ascoli Satriano are accessible. The Faragola Villa is accessible.
Useful informations
We reccomend wearing comfortable clothing, tennis shoes, a cap to protect from harmful sun rays and a pocket rain jacket. Bring bottled water. We recommend bringing a camera.

Archeologica s.r.l. “a day as archaeologists in Faragola” educational activity, which involves a class on archaeology, explaining methodologies, techniques, the role of archaeologists and a guided tour of the archaeological park, combined with the possibility of seeing archaeologists at work up close and participating in all of the on-site activities. The knowledge is imparted in the form of a story and can be suited to any cultural background and school level. Complementary information leaflets/dossiers are provided.
