Nature tour of the Ugento Coast Natural Park, moving from the coast to the hinterland, to observe a series of different habitats and environments like the rocky sandy coastlines, the wetlands beyond the dunes, the swamps and the Mediterranean maquis and many different animal species such as: seagull and cormorant colonies, swamp turtles and frogs. The tour continues with a visit to the city of Ugento and its Archaeological Park and Museum, its Colosso Collection and Diocesan Museum. The last stop is in Casarano, where, inside a building once used as military barracks, is now the Miner’s Museum, which chronicles the history of mining and with it, part of Salento’s history. Finally, at the Astronomic Observatory, you will look at the sky and learn about the sophisticated instruments involved.
