The Amphitheatre was built partly by digging the ground and partly by using a system of arches formed by tuff columns. The building was originally composed by a double order of stands, of which only the lower survided. The elliptical arena is separated from the stands by a wall with a marble frieze showing the hunting contests held in the amphitheatre.
