The church of Saint Mary of the Angels is built within a garden, owned by Bindaccio Bernardo Peruzzi’s widow, Giovannella, who on her husband’s death donated the building to the Order of the Vincentians, thus being entitled to place hers and her husband’s remains in the church. In the following years, the extension of the city resulted in the demolition of some buildings and the dismantling of the garden. Over the years, the church has been altered and extended several times. The front facade exhibits a beautiful majolica panel, with the image of the Virgin called Saint Mary of the Angels imprinted on it. The panel is from last century and has been restored on several occasions, as it was encrusted with salt deposits. However, the latest restoration was carried out in the distant 1942.
