To build the Church of Jesus, the Jesuits took as many as two years. The church was built on designs that were sent from Naples by the Como-born Jesuit father Giovanni De Rosis. The plan was laid with sober, restrained elegance on straightforward lines. The Church is dedicated to the infant Jesus, a statue of whom is inside the church.
