The building stands along the road from Oria to Latiano. The oldest documentation of the church can be found in a document dated 1062, although its origins can be dated most likely to the 8th century. The exterior features a sloping façade with a central opening crowned by a architrave topped by a lunette, which was added at a later time. A small side door opens onto the ancient lateral nave. This small church has a single nave ending with a semicircular apse and is covered by two domes with lowered axes. The interior is preceded by a room that is raised above the ground level. On the right side of the apse there is still the arm of a transept and a small circular domed chamber. In correspondence to the apsidal zone are still fragments of a cycle of frescoes from the 14th-15th centuries. The subjects portrayed include Christ surrounded by angels and saints. Some of the architectural elements visible both inside and outside the building seem to imply that there were originally three naves. The transformation of the layout can probably be dated between the 14th and 15th centuries.
